About Yang Huang

My name is Yang (Ryan), and I'm a Commercialisation Associate at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research. I am passionate about translating novel biotechnological research into mature products that can be used to better human health. I am particularly interested in roles relating to commercialisation of science, evaluation of technology, science communication, and life-science investment. Previously, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research. I was responsible for laboratory upkeep, running assays and experiments, and routine cell culture and reagent preparation. In 2022, I completed a Master of Biotechnology at University of Melbourne, and previously I completed my Bachelor of Biomedical Science with an Honours research year component at Monash University. My research project focused on repurposing existing FDA-approved chemical compounds to target ovarian cancer leader cells, which are a subset of highly invasive and chemoresistant cancer cells.
