About Yang Liu

Dr. Yang Liu is a devoted researcher within Argonne National Laboratory's Energy Systems and Infrastructure Analysis Division. His primary dedication is to propel solutions that seamlessly integrate solar and wind energy resources into the electrical power grid. His passion lies in bridging the gap between pioneering research and the practical, impactful commercial products vital to the power industry's evolution. With a track record of significant contributions to various DOE (Department of Energy) projects, both as an investigator and principal investigator, Dr. Liu has forged strong collaborations with other DOE national labs, universities, and industry stakeholders. Presently, he leads a DOE AGM (Advanced Grid Modeling) project centered on high-performance semi-analytical dynamic simulation techniques and a DOE SETO (Solar Energy Technologies Office) project dedicated to enhancing photovoltaic systems' cybersecurity. Dr. Liu's academic journey includes a B.S. degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi'an, China, an M.S. degree from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the U.S. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University and an intern at ISO New England.
