About Yannick Noomen

Experienced Artistic Director, Actor and Artist with a demonstrated history of working in the performing arts industry. Skilled in Performing Arts, Film, Event Management, Theatre, and Music. Strong arts and design professional graduated from Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. Graduating at the Theater school in Amsterdam, I dedicated myself to repertoire plays as a classical actor. Two years after graduating my ambitions changed radically, noticing the exclusive and elite stigma of theater in general and the lack of productions that resonated with younger generations that I felt part of, both in form and content. After encountering Anne Maike Mertens and establishing Nineties, I have grown into a versatile maker, actor and performer, creating contemporary productions in collaboration with leading artists from different disciplines. Throughout my career I’ve mastered many different performing styles and have become a conceptual maker,(co)responsible for all concept development at Nineties. I love working in various different contexts, reaching out to audiences in- and outside the theater circuit. Over the years my skills in music, fine arts and digital media have grown, driven by my curiosity for unique qualities of different mediums. This adds to my ability to create new stories that give hold to our present times and require new forms. As the artistic director of Nineties I’ve also grown a wide and valuable network within the arts both nationally and globally. Since 2025 I am a regional fellow of the ISPA for three years, which allows me to grow my network even more intensively; Always looking for new artists to work with, producers to find alternative ways of producing with and curators to explore presenting opportunities.
