About Yanting Yang

I am an M.S. candidate focusing on Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University and have received B.E. degree at Fudan University with major in Nuclear Engineering and Technology. I won Scholarship for Outstanding Students (for 2 consecutive years) and Award for Outstanding Students at Fudan University (for 2019-2020).At undergraduate level, I learned the physical principles of medical imaging and medical imaging instrument design from the course Medical Imaging and found it very intriguing.I want to delve further into the research area of Biosignals and Biomedical Imaging at Columbia, and use this knowledge to develop radiology equipment of higher imaging quality, so as to improve diagnostic accuracy and increase patient's life expectancy.I have a strong physics foundation and excellent experiment skills. With 1 year experience as a research assistant in Fudan University, my learning ability were well demonstrated in the research project The Upgrade and Improvement of SH-HtscEBIT hosted by my tutor.My goal is to become a biomedical physics engineer in developing cutting-edge radiology equipment.Given my strong mathematical ability and experience in programming and data processing, I believe I could make some impressive accomplishments in this field.
