About Yao Lu

I am an innovative molecular biology researcher with a broad knowledge base across multiple cutting-edge projects and experience in a wide range of laboratory skills, data analysis techniques and instrument operations. My doctoral / post-doctoral studies in molecular biology have primarily focused on the characterisation of the small interfering RNA system, microbial symbiosis and genomic signalling pathway (defence oriented). I engaged in a diverse array of projects, which enabled me to acquire a versatile skill set in wet lab techniques and afforded me the opportunity to engage in reviewing literature related to molecular biology field. Additionally, I have been actively supervising colleagues or students in the laboratory and have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, which have enriched the experience in time management and efficiency. Moreover, I possess strong data analysis skills, particularly in utilizing Linux languages for genome sequence analysis that has also granted me familiarity with various databases. I am continuously expanding my learning skills and am currently engaged in self-study of data analysis in metagenomics. Overall, combining my expertise in molecular biology lab skills, bioinformatics and mentoring, I stand prepared as diverse-background molecular biologist, and ready to address complex challenges within interdisciplinary landscapes.
