About Yash Deshmukh

Hi, I’m Yash. I’m a multidisciplinary Product Designer with a background in Interaction Design, UX Strategy, and Visual Systems, holding a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Maryland, where I also served as a Professor (Graduate Instructor) teaching Visual Design to the Senior class of the College of Information. Over the past few years, I’ve worked across FinTech, EdTech, and public-sector products. I’ve led 0→1 product builds, redesigned high-impact experiences, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to ship interfaces that are both beautiful and usable. My strengths lie in simplifying complexity, building scalable Design Systems, and turning insights into intuitive, inclusive experiences! Beyond product work, I’ve helped shape design content for large audiences, mentored emerging designers, and used storytelling and Motion Design to make UX feel more human. I thrive at the intersection of structure and creativity, always balancing usability with emotion. Outside work, I’m usually geeking out over cars, curating hip-hop music from around the world, or planning long drives with great playlists! I’m also always down to explore new rabbit holes, whether it’s a fresh design idea, a niche system, or an unexpected tool.
