About Yavuz Yardim

My research experience and areas of interest involve experimental and numerical investigation of reinforced concrete structures, earthquake-resistant buildings, and the performance of masonry (historical) structures. I have extensive experience in the behavior of composite precast slab structures, unreinforced masonry buildings, and historical structures under static and dynamic load. My other research interests include Composite Precast Lightweight Slab, structure assessment and repair techniques for RC (buildings and bridges), and masonry structures. Currently, I am working on different strengthening techniques for Unreinforced Masonry Structures and Effects of Anchorage on the Axial Strength of Fiber Reinforced Polymers Confined Rectangular Columns. During my professional carrier, I worked as an engineer, investor, and academic at several different levels in Turkey, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Albania, Oman, and the UK. These positions allowed me to develop excellent interpersonal and communication skills in such a manner that I have built very good networking and research links with both local and overseas researchers and companies.
