About Yazeed Ettaib

Yazeed Ettaib is an electric and electronic engineer and entrepreneur with 7+ years in the telecoms industry. What seemed like a steady career path was intersected by major geopolitical events, and Yazeed found himself contributing his technical skills to an important cause: Libya’s Arab Spring revolution. Yazeed’s began his career as a Technical Support Engineer with Alcatel-Lucent and was promoted to an Integration Professional role, supervising teams to ensure a consistent high quality network for some of the largest clients in Libya and the UAE. When Alcatel-Lucent suspended operations during Arab Spring, Yazeed co-founded and served as CEO of Radio Shabab Libya FM, despite the personal and political risks involved. The technical expertise and passion of the founding team made Benghazi’s first independent radio station fully functional within 3 weeks, and provided much-needed alternative programming during national uncertainty. Later, identifying a demand for private services under Libya’s new regime, Yazeed co-founded ION Telecom and Technology, where he served as Program Management Officer and CTO. ION was one of the first independent ISPs in Libya. The ION team’s entrepreneurial spirit and attention to customer service has continued to make it one of the region’s market leaders. Living in the US, Yazeed has earned a Masters in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management where he was selected for the prestigious SHARE Fellowship. He has consulted for DSC Logistics (business operations analysis) and ASU Biodesign Institute (business development). He is fluent in English and Arabic and is currently working for AVANA Capital as a senior digital product manager.
