About Yeah-Sil Moon

As a leading U.S. and Korean patent attorney with 30 years of experience, I focus on patent prosecution, patent litigation and strategic IP counseling for clients worldwide. I lead the Firm's Korea Practice and am a member of the Firm's Patent Prosecution Council. I successfully defended patent infringement actions in various district courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC). Recently I achieved an important victory for SK Innovation against LG Chem in a patent infringement dispute before the ITC involving lithium-ion battery technology used in electric vehicles. I also obtained Federal Circuit's decision affirming a summary judgment of non-infringement for PI Advanced Materials (SKC Kolon PI) and won a jury verdict of non-infringement for SOLiD in the Northern District of California. I also have in-depth experience in IPR, as well as significant experience with patent prosecution, litigation, opposition, and invalidation proceedings in Asia, Europe, Australia, Mexico, and Brazil. I have prosecuted and enforced patents worldwide for some of the most successful therapeutics. I have assisted BMS (formerly Celgene Corp.) in establishing its global patent portfolio including prosecution, strategic counseling, litigation, IPR, opposition, invalidation, and transactions for products including $billions/year drug REVLIMID®, POMALYST®, OTEZLA®, ONUREG®, VIDAZA® and THALOMID® for treating cancers, immune and inflammatory conditions. I regularly travel to Korea to visit clients and to lecture on hot topics of U.S. and international IP protection.
