About Yeswanth Kumar

I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Jain University, with a PhD in Chemistry from Pondicherry University and Postdoc at HUJI, Israel. My research is deeply rooted in the astrochemical computation of interstellar molecules, with a focus on unraveling the quantum dynamics and reactivity of alkali hydride systems (e.g, LiH, NaH, KH) that are critical to understanding early-universe and interstellar chemical processes. With over 13 peer-reviewed publications, my expertise spans quantum wavepacket dynamics, reaction rate theory, and ab initio simulations, utilising computational tools for reaction mechanism. In addition to my core research, my interest spans behind the science of how we can explore the molecules with help of following packages, such as Gaussian 09, Molpro, and VASP. I am passionate about developing novel theoretical frameworks and algorithms that bridge the gap between computational chemistry and astrochemical observations. As an educator and mentor, I believe in the power of integrating frontier research with innovative pedagogy. I encourage my students to think critically, explore creatively, and solve complex problems using modern theoretical tools and interdisciplinary approaches. Outside of my academic endeavors, I am an avid enthusiast of astronomy, scientific writing, psychology, philosophy and photography—pursuits that continually inspire my curiosity and creative approach to scientific discovery.
