About Yingxi Cheng
I am a native Singaporean who has made Finland her home for the past 15 years. In June of 2021 I graduated as a Master of Arts from the University of Oulu with a major in Finnish and minors in Estonian Language and Culture, Northern Sámi as a Foreign Language, and Economics and Business Administration. My most recent work experience is in localization and English- and Finnish-language proofreading. In addition to that, I have worked in communications and customer service, with additional (minor) roles in transcription, translation (EN↔FI), and foreign language teaching. While I am still finding my place in the working world, I have found the field of localization to be an excellent fit for my skills and personality so far. My other areas of interest include (text) design, technical writing, content creation and management, translation and interpretation, language planning, easy read materials, second language acquisition, and foreign language learning and teaching.
