About Yogender Kumar

The day when I used Google Earth for the first time changed my interest from journalism (to tell the truth to people) to GIS and Remote Sensing (viewing other aspects of the Earth's surface and learning about different phenomena through satellite imagery). Furthering my studies in Geo-informatics drove my interest in natural resource assessment and management using Geo-informatics Sciences. Exploration of ArcGIS, QGIS, Erdas Imagine, and many more software (although some were used through the university's lab and others were initially cracked versions) boosted my interest in the same field. The part of Cartography also provided me the stage to represent the Earth's surface in my way; I am sure I am a good Cartographer along with a GIS & RS Analyst. The use of this technology in various application parts, from Watershed Analysis, Drought Assessment, Climate Change, and livelihoods in the fragile ecologies of the badlands of the Chambal River basin, introduced me to the contribution of this technology for human future towards sustainability. Serving the police department for 03 years with dedication and discipline provided me with a taste of serving people. The future of human civilization depends on the latest technology and its use for sustainability. Serving humans and nature with the help of Geo-informatics is my passion, which always sparks me to use this technology in any field like in the police itself. To feed my passion to serve humans and nature, I further want to learn and work with institutions at a responsible and challenging posting that provides a platform to utilize my knowledge, expand my skills, and offer opportunities to serve along with professional growth.
