About Yogendrasingh Baboolall

I am Yogendrasingh Babolall, a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Mechatoincs Engineering from the University of Mauritius. I graduated with a 2nd class 1st division honours in October 2016. My journey at the University was very fruitful. During my 4 years course, I also got the opportunity to do a 6 months internship at a construction company, Nandalec, which is a provider of electrical and mechanical services to clients. I got to learn and assume several responsibilities that of a junior M&E engineer. I worked on the Avalon Golf estate site (Bois Cherie) whereby I got direct exposure to the work environment and direct interaction with the project manager and contractor on site. Nandalec was a sub-contractor on site. Basically, my work required me to participate to board meetings and coordinate with Architect, main contractor and the client. I was also responsible along with my senior engineer, to supervise a team of 5 electricians and 5 plumbers, to ensure that the proper electrical panels were installed with proper wirings, to ensure that all the works were done as per specifications and drawings. After that, my next work experience was just after my graduation where I worked in a mutual fund company called American Growth Fund, assuming the role of a customer service representative. I consider myself as someone who is always proactive, determined and always looking for ways where I can surpass my present capabilities and offer a competitive advantage to my employer. I believe that I do possess a good balance and mixture of the technical academic background required to do an engineering position and also the soft skills such as diplomacy, good communication skill, fitting and working in a team and the ability to motivate people around me and myself in order to be able to work under pressure meeting the company’s goal.
