About Yoland Charette

A landscape architect by training, he held a number of positions at the National Capital Commission (NCC) for 23 years. From 2015 to 2024, I was head of the landscape architecture and industrial design team responsible for implementing several major projects in the National Capital Region, such as the refurbishment of Kiweki Point and the Rideau Hall Fountain of Hope. I collaborated on the development of major long-term planning plans, such as the plans for the south and north banks of the Ottawa River and the Capital Illumination Plan. Responsible for the planning, design and construction of several national commemorations, such as the national Holocaust and Canadian Navy monuments. I was able to develop collaboration with various partners, including the Department of Canadian Heritage. Member of the technical committee for the development of accessibility standards for outdoor spaces for Accessibility Standards Canada and member of the NCC's advisory committee on accessibility. In 2021, I was responsible for creating the forestry team responsible for implementing the NCC's forest strategy, which led to a partnership agreement of more than $10 millions with Natural Resources Canada. This demonstrates my commitment to the sustainable management of natural resources. Since 2024, I have been a senior planner in the real estate portfolio planning branch at Natural Resources Canada. I analyze, plan and manage various real estate infrastructures. I specialize in managing multidisciplinary teams, project management and infrastructure portfolio planning, and am completing an MBA specializing in entrepreneurship and digital transformation.
