About Yolanda Abrigo

Yolanda Abrigo began her educational journey in January 1991 at Bee County College (now known as Coastal Bend College). Yolanda earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in General Business Technology in December 1992. Upon graduation, Yolanda was hired as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Occupational Programs where she worked for two years. In 1997, Yolanda transitioned into a Student Support Specialist position in the Learning Assistance Center (now known as the Student Success Center). Yolanda served as the GED Administrator and testing liaison during that time. In 1998, Yolanda transitioned into the I.T. Department where she helped implement a Help Desk for the college. Not long after, Yolanda was given another opportunity to serve as a distance learning technician through the college’s Title grant. It was during this time that Yolanda developed her passion for distance learning. Yolanda has worked as a multimedia technician, learning management system administrator, instructional designer and trainer, and currently serves as the Director of Distance Learning. Higher Education: University of Phoenix, 2018, BA in Business Management SQL Certification, 2018,Coastal Bend College Continuing Education Bee County College, 1991-1992, Associate of Applied Science in General Business Technology Organization/Community Memberships: Yolanda serves as a member for the Texas Distance Learning Association, serves on the CBC Graduation Committee, and also serves as the liaison for STARLINK, an online professional development to higher education communities. She serves as a member of the Texas Blackboard User’s Group as well as a representative of the South Texas Higher Education Regional Council for Distance Learning.
