Utilization Management Analyst Nurse-Educator & InterQual Certified Instructor – Subject matter expert to instruct end users annually in the VHA review process, including updated criteria revisions, establish a national end user group of highly skilled clinical review staff. Serves as the Lead IQCI, peer mentor and first line clinical criteria resource for UM facility staff and associated VISN sites. Facilitate training session based on VISN training plan and National training needs. Coordinated the FY2022 InterQual Training for VISN & Utilization Management, Bed Management, Interfacility Transfer Coordinators, Key Nursing and Key Providers, team lead for Atlanta VHA UM Medical Users group, serve as a clinical liaison with the medical and clinical staff at the VA. Advises upper leadership on issues of compliance with directives, process improvements, and coordinates formal internal reviews that have a potential for impact upon the quality of care, such as, focused reviews for process improvements. Provides oversight required for an integration of clinical utilization reviews into the Quality Management program. Responsible for orientation of new employees, evaluation of their progress and implementing a learning plan for improvement.
