About Youngjib Ham

I’m an Associate Professor at Seoul National University. My interests are to build and manage sustainable built environment systems through smart construction and management. I conduct basic research in areas that include sensing and data analytics (AI, data science), information modeling/visualization and simulation (digital twin, VR), and human-robot interfaces, in the context of construction/infrastructure management and building science. I apply this research to projects that include teleoperation in construction workplaces (automation in construction), AI-driven disaster risk prediction (e.g, hurricanes, pandemics), smart city digital twin for vulnerable populations (e.g, older adults) and regions (e.g, coastal communities), smart building, and cyber-physical systems (CPS) for improving STEM education. My research thrust consists of three parts, supported by external funding agencies including National Science Foundation (NSF),(1) Smart City Resilience & Resilient Infrastructure System;(2) Smart Construction and Intelligent Maintenance; and (3) Smart Building & Sustainable Community.
