About Youngsub Sin

The path I have taken so far has been one of adapting and improving my skill set to rise to new challenges. When I first joined KDB, I was a banker with a traditional mindset. After working in corporate finance for six years, I gradually became aware of what needed improving in our internal banking system and decided to volunteer for a large-scale banking system improvement project. In 2018, I directly participated as a project leader in the bank’s Next Generation Informatization Project. In fact, I only worked in the field of corporate finance at the time, so I lacked IT knowledge and it was my first time working with a programmer. So, at first, it was not easy to communicate with programmers. But during this project, I was able to experience the entire process of core banking information system development and develop my computer programming skills using languages such as Java for communication with programmers and graphic tools such as Photoshop. As a result of my work, I received the bank’s CEO Citation in recognition of my contribution to improving processes related to corporate restructuring and building the bank’s first database (DB) of insolvent companies. In 2019, I became interested in the bank’s vast DB. KDB has a history of 68 years but did not have a department to manage its DB or initiate digital transformation. Drawing on my previous experiences, I saw that there was a real need to digitize. To achieve this goal, I learned the foundations of digital finance through the KDB-KAIST Digital Finance Program and studied Python. In 2020, as a member of the Digital Banking Execution Team in the Digital Transformation Department, I learned Python and C# while developing an automation program. In addition, while acting as project manager for a remote corporate finance system development project, I learned the foundations of machine learning through in-house data science training and continued self-development. I am currently in charge of a remote corporate finance application channel that utilizes video calls and facial recognition technology.
