About Yousery Elsayed

Prof. Yousery Nabil M. K. Elsayed is the founder and the former Head of Tourism and Hospitality Management Department, Umm Al Qura University, Saudi Arabia and the Head of Active and Interactive Learning Center in the same college. He is also a faculty member in the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Helwan University, Egypt (The first founded school of tourism and hospitality in the Middle East). He received his Ph.D from Cardiff School of Management (UK, 2009). He was awarded two master degrees in Tourism Management, Education and Training (Spain, 2004) and in Hospitality Management (Egypt, 2003). He is interested in Hospitality Management; E-marketing; E-distribution, Tourism and Hospitality Higher Education and Event Management research areas. His academic and consultancy experiences were undertaken in many countries, e.g. USA, UK, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt. Prof Yousery received thanks letters and reference letters from many leading academic enterprises and professors in the USA, UK, UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He was honored three times by Umm Al Qura University's rectors in the academic years 2015/2016; 2017/2018 and 2018/2018. He was awarded three scholarships from European Union and the Arab League, Egyptian government and United States Agency for International Development (USAID). He succeeded to lead a research team to have three calls from USAID for 12 post doctorates and 8 master degree full scholarships He launched the 1st Saudi female B.Sc.of Tourism and Hospitlaity Management during his period of serving as head of the department. He also launched the first joint teaching project between him (Umm Al Qura University) and Dr. Angela Durko (Texas A&M). He also started a series of international experts training at the College of Business (Umm Al Qura University) by inviting Prof. Mahmood Khan (Virginia Tech University) and Assoc. Prof. Joseph Mick La Lopa (Purdue University) USA.
