About Yu Liu

With over 3 years of work experience in data science and software engineering, I am passionate about creating innovative solutions that leverage the power of data and technology to drive business desicion. I have a master's degree in data science from Tufts University, and I am currently a software engineer at Merck, where I develop web applications for enterprise use. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have a background in biotechnology, analytics, and natural language processing. In my current role, I have the opportunity to work on different projects and technologies across the organization. Previously, I was a data scientist in natural language processing, where I built text searching and analytics tools to facilitate the process of responding to health authority for drug applications. I designed a pipeline to eliminate duplicate documents in the database using Elasticsearch, and I used FastAPI to create a RESTful API for the tool. I also have experience in predicting the readmission of patients with heart failure using AWS SageMaker, and building dashboards using Spotfire to examine the impact of Covid19 on oncology patients events. I have strong skills in AWS SageMaker, Dataiku DSS, FastAPI, as well as machine learning and neural networks models. I am always eager to learn new skills and technologies, and I enjoy collaborating with other talented professionals.
