About Yu Sun
I had both my undergraduate and my master in Computer Engineering, University of Toronto, and both graduated with honor. I had my Professional Experience Year (1 year internship between 3rd year and 4th year at UofT) at Huawei Noah's Ark Lab, Human-computer Interaction team, I developed Android frontend and backend code and machine learning using Android Studio, Django, Python, Java and Tensorflow. In September 2021, I joined Huawei Toronto Distributed Data Storage and Management Lab [2012 Laboratories] as associate software engineer. I contributed to the distributed locking team for GaussDB, a distributed relational database based on PostgreSQL. Later I became the teach lead for distributed lock team to adapt scaling out (add/drop nodes) and crash recovery. We reached system unavailability time and the database has already been used by banks and airplane companies all over the world. Now I'm working at Affirm as software engineer II in online storage team.
