Background
About Yumiko Levy
I had an interest in nutrition when my father became diabetic after having stomach surgery, and I was an elementary school student. He had restrictions on food, I helped him scale his food, and served meals. I studied nutrition at the college and wanted to become a nutritionist, but my father had a car accident, and he had a hard time walking after collapsing ribs and collarbones because there were multiple steps and uneven surfaces in the house, Japan. I decided to be an architect to build houses for everyone who could live there safely without having any problems or accidents. Furthermore, I graduated from the college for architecture and passed the exam for architects in Japan. I designed residential and commercial buildings at the general construction company in Tokyo, and I was interested in buildings when I traveled to the USA and Europe. I was shocked that people lived in 1-story houses in Los Angeles because there were tall, skinny, and multiple stories in houses in Tokyo. I wanted to learn about American culture and architecture, so I decided to go to college in Los Angeles to study more. I worked at a general construction company in Gardena, California, and also worked at a sushi restaurant as a server for 3 years. I moved to Colorado with two boys and my husband in 2016. I was a busy mother taking care of little boys because my husband traveled a lot. I wanted to help dog owners during the pandemic because they worked from home and their dogs needed more exercise, so I decided to become an advanced dog leader when my boys were in elementary school. I took 2 to 6 dogs to the mountains, let them off-leash for exploring for a couple of hours, and hiked up to 5.5 miles every day. Dogs were happily tired and came home, and my clients were also happy to work from home peacefully without being disturbed. I always think what people need and what I can do for them to be happy.
