About Yusuf Ali
One of my biggest passions in life is to allow people like myself to feel proud of their identity, and feel confident in being Muslims/being of a diverse background. Strands of this are found rooted in all the work I am involved in today. I volunteer and work for The Scouts Association & Muslim Scout Fellowship, holding roles including growing Scouting in diverse communities, supporting the coordination of events within the MSF and leading on catering operations. My background is as a trained professional chef, and a project of mine which I have been working on for 4+ years is the page Sliced, which is a food media platform that showcases food through a variety of lenses which allow the viewer to see different representations of themselves through the different platforms. Finally, and most recently I have started the company 'Crescent' which is a clothing company producing unique designs on 100% organic cotton clothing. Going back to my passion, this is all about allowing people across the Muslim world to feel that their heritage has been embraced and recognised in contemporary designs.
