About Yusuke Nara

I began my career as a co-founder and CTO of an IT startup while still in university, where I also worked as a backend engineer. Since then, I have consistently created value in roles that bridge both technology and business. Starting in 2003, I joined a global semiconductor manufacturer, where I engaged in a wide range of responsibilities—from hardware and software R&D (with over 50 patent applications) to product planning, sales, and marketing. I led new business creation initiatives, particularly in the IoT and wearable technology space, contributing to the development of devices such as game consoles, digital cameras, smartphones, and IoT communication products. In 2017, I transitioned to a government-backed venture capital firm, focusing on investments and hands-on support for deep tech startups in areas like AI, healthcare, biochemical technology, and robotics. I also served as an external board director for two startups, helping drive growth through industry-academia-government collaboration. Since 2021, I have been with OMRON Corporation, where I’m leading new value co-creation initiatives aimed at addressing social challenges faced by labor-intensive industries. By integrating AI and robotics with OMRON’s core competencies in sensing & control + Think, I’m driving innovation across both primary and tertiary industries.
