Yvette Ashby is the Founder and CEO of the Professional Clothing Industry Association Worldwide (PCIAW®). As the figurehead of the professional clothing markets with over 25 years in the industry, Yvette’s tenacity and determination to provide a single central cohesive network between buyers, suppliers and manufactures has secured PCIAW® as the industry's leading association. PCIAW® offers a collective voice for the professional clothing supply chain, which grows in strength and breadth when new members join from around the world. As a non-profit trade organisation for the uniform, workwear, and PPE markets, PCIAW® uniquely positioned itself to connect the global supply chain, break down competitive barriers, facilitate collaboration and offer education to inform on best practices and innovation. Yvette’s collaboration with the UK National Audit Office and participation in the UK Home Office Employers Consultation Group has positioned her as an outspoken advocate for the global professional clothing industry, renowned for her reputation in every element of the supply chain. The PCIAW® CEO has recently led the way in advocating for circular textiles into the National Fire Chiefs Council and the UK Ministry of Defence, working with partners in Textiles 2030 and Business in the Community. As a believer in collaborative action, Yvette Ashby has foreseen the need for nearshoring manufacturing due to the disruption in global supply chains. Yvette worked tirelessly to create partnerships with Portugal and Tunisia as nearshore solutions that will reduce carbon impact of offshore supply chains whilst providing resilience and reliability to the professional clothing industry. Yvette Ashby believes that the professional clothing industry can take the lead on employing circular textiles principles into the design and manufacture of uniforms, workwear and PPE. The first-of-its-kind report, Circular Textiles for a Sustainable Future highlighted innovations from fibre to fabric and end-product manufacture, advocating collaboration in the supply chain to design for recycling.
