About Yvette Moore

Yvette Moore is Director of Communications and Marketing for United Methodist Women, a laywomen’s organization focused on the needs of women, children and youth since 1869. She is responsible for building and leading an integrated marketing communications strategy to increase United Methodist Women’s visibility and impact in church and society. Since joining United Methodist Women’s national staff in 1989, Ms. Moore has served in several communications positions—from senior writer to managing editor to executive editor of the organization’s response magazine to Director of Communications. Ms. Moore has also served as national staff liaison for Conference United Methodist Women Communications Coordinators, responsible for coordinating skills training and officer updates for these conference officers. Ms. Moore is also a writer and publisher living in Brooklyn, New York, with her family. Her novel Freedom Songs is a YA Civil Rights classic originally published by Orchard Books and later in paperback by Penguin Publishing’s Puffin Books. Ms. Moore recently re-issued Freedom Songs through her company, Jubilee Year Communications, along with its new arson-mystery sequel, Just Sketching. Ms. Moore is also the author of The Birth of Christ, a colorful rendition of the Christmas story for children of all ages.
