Hello Everyone! My name is Yvette Vargas! I am so excited to meet you! As a small introduction about myself, I am a former UCI graduate with a Bachelors in Film and Media Studies and Comparative Literature. I bet you are thinking,"Do you do writing and watch films?" My answer is,"not ONLY that". I have a wide range of experiences involving academic research, human resources, marketing, film, journalism, editing, education, and now, data science and programming. My professional strengths are exactly what you expect- My communication, in terms of academic and professional, is tangible, eye-catching, and memorable - My creative and out-of-the-box thinking is unique, insightful, and multi-dimensional, especially towards the utilization of data science - Team building and team leading are two skills that I will never have a preference because "you have to learn to follow before you can lead"(extra points if you know the film reference) Essentially, I am a unicorn thinker! I love both sides of my brain! As you can probably tell, my values are centralized in creativity, determination, and compassion- I embrace my creativity to inspire people and produce innovative solutions around liberation and belonging- I use a multidisciplinary lens to bring out the importance of education in all things- I embrace my empathy to validate, uplift, and advance marginalized communities- I use my knowledge in people AND data to humanize business and technical solutions. With my values and talents, I aspire to inspire multi-talented individuals like myself to use their unique abilities to their advantage, to break stereotypes, and to break molds, especially in fields revolving around tech and data science.
