About Zac Campbell

Through my career I've worked in QA, API/data management and web development in various capacities. When I first started in QA I was known for writing my own Firefox extensions to assist me in my job. Then later using WebDriver for test automation I was able to make good use of automation in several roles, combining it with manual testing where required. I've always been keen to use tools to help me do my job. At Mozilla, I also had the role of working with volunteers, reviewing their pull requests and working with them to teach them how to use tools like WebDriver. Our team often staged community events where we would work through Software QA and WebDriver tutorials with guests. My use of WebDriver as a tool for QA led me on to a more development-focused career path. Since then I have worked with algorithm-based investment models, on both research and execution, where stability and reliability was paramount. I've used Django, Bootstrap and GA4 to build a website for a YouTube influencer. Building the site from a marketing angle and integrating analytics was a new experience for me. Recently my side projects have been around AI and machine learning. I have written a chat bot that integrates a fine-tuned OpenAI's GPT-2 and VQGAN-CLIP image generation models. I've also experimented with training OpenAI's retro game module to play video games. The primary challenges for these kind of projects are around the quality of data; identifying data that provides the correct context, choosing correct data structures and cleansing datasets of toxic or unsuitable data.
