About Zach James

I help young Australians navigate their career journey with clarity, confidence and a future-focused mindset. As the founder of The Youth Career Counsellor (TYCC), I work with students, school-leavers and early career professionals to make informed career decisions at a time when the world of work has never felt more uncertain and overwhelmed with information. TYCC was created in response to a widening gap: while young Australians face growing expectations and pressure to succeed, many schools and families lack the time, tools or up-to-date insights to fully guide them. Too often, young people are left feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Drawing on a background in career transition, operational leadership and mental health support, I bring both structure and empathy to my practice. I’ve supported hundreds of individuals across all stages of career development, and my focus today is squarely on youth. Through tailored coaching, practical resources and actionable advice, grounded in research, labour market trends and real-world experience; I help young people turn uncertainty into opportunity. Whether it’s selecting subjects, preparing a first resume, applying for university or apprenticeships, exploring alternative pathways, or stepping into the workforce for the first time; I’m here to support young Australians to build brighter futures, with confidence.
