About Zachary Egan

I was born in Šilutė, Lithuania; raised in the United States, I've been based in Paris, France for over five years. Currently I am a Digital Producer, Internal Communications, at the International Energy Agency (IEA) and an OECD Official. I'm in charge of a wide-range of communications tasks across the IEA, including stakeholder engagement with member and non-member governments, youth engagement, internal communities and communications for the Clean Energy Transitions Programme (CETP). I am currently pursuing my MSc in Energy Policy at the University of Sussex where I am interested in energy justice, energy security, critical minerals and natural gas with regional interests in the FSU and Baltic Sea Regions. I was selected as a delegate for the European Youth Energy Forum 2024 in Budapest, Hungary as a part of the working group on electric mobility in sustainable cities. I am currently the Advocacy & PR Officer at the EYEN Secretariat. Passionate about history, I wrote my undergraduate dual History/Law thesis on the impacts of Urban Polish Culture on Lithuanian Politics leading up to the formation of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1569, which was awarded the Undergraduate Paper in Baltic Studies Award from the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) in 2022.
