About Zack Black
I’m a passionate, hands-on music industry creative with experience spanning live event production, music marketing, digital distribution, and independent label work.As a co-founder of turnpyke, a DIY, independent record label based in Lawrence, KS, I’ve helped local artists digitally release and promote their music. Through turnpyke, I've produced shows around Lawrence - most notably, Turnaround, a two-day, 16-band festival at Replay Lounge. I've hosted dozens of house shows in my college home, booking both touring and local acts and handling everything from promotion and event production to audio, video and lights.Currently, I work as a Marketing & Event Planning Intern at Social House Entertainment, where I’ve spent the past year supporting large-scale festival operations and promotions. I also work at the Lied Center of Kansas and have three years of stagehand experience, giving me a deep understanding of the technical and logistical sides of live production.I recently completed certificates in Music Enterprise and Music Recording at the University of Kansas, where I'm finishing my Marketing degree.
