About Zak Long

Hello, I’m a Multimedia Producer in San Francisco, CA. I make videos about science and research going on at the UC and why it’s so important to fund public research. I co-produce a web series called Fig. 1 which takes complex science topics and translates them into a short bite sized animated explainer videos. I also worked with Vox where I helped produce several videos in the Climate Lab web series. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Cleveland Institute of Art and sometimes I like to do photography and printmaking. I was recently an Artist in Residence at SparkBox Studio in Ontario, Canada to explore some new techniques in print and photo. My films have previously screened both internationally at The Queensland Museum in Brisbane, Australia and domestically at The Anthology Film Archives in NYC and The Kinsey Institute in Bloomington, Indiana.
