About Zaki Hassein

After graduating as an EE-Engineer and spending almost a decade working for oilfield services giant Schlumberger in a wide range of capacities including field operations, training, data quality control, clients' engagement and operations support, I have now decided to follow a new path: Computing. This new-old passion is obviously not foreign to my educational background, it's rather one of the parts I liked the most about studying EE. However, the link to the oil & gas experience might not be as obvious. I look at computing as a necessary knowledge not only for a long-term career being an essential part of the future of humanity, but also as a tool that serves every other area of interest and expertise ranging from renewable energy, photonics, genomic studies, automation of operational and business processes, etc. I strive for perfection at what I do, whether it be doing well in studies and coming in top students among class, learning and mastering new languages, composing an elegant piece of literature, breaking sales record to my respective client, coaching junior colleagues or drilling the fastest well for a BP project through a careful selection of drilling parameters. I take pride in acting towards the overall interest of humans and nature.
