About Zakiyyah Shaheed

As a public health nursing manager at Southeast Mississippi Rural Health Initiative, Inc.(SEMRHI), I oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various health programs and services for the rural communities in the region. I have over 21 years of experience in nursing, medical, and legal practice industries, and I hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. My core competencies include patient and staff advocacy, mentoring, conflict resolution, clinical research, online learning, simulation training, and integration of technology. I also run my own healthcare consulting business, where I provide legal advice and support to healthcare professionals and facilities on matters such as product liability, medical malpractice, negligence, personal injury, and risk management. Additionally, I have taught as an adjunct faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi College of Nursing, where I helped prepare the next generation of nurses for the challenges and opportunities in the healthcare field. My mission is to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare for the underserved populations, and to uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in the nursing profession.
