Background
About Zamora Evans
I am a medical student, advocate, researcher, and community builder. My passion for saving lives, and my own lived experience, drive everything I do.I developed programs that support the mental wellness of the LGBTQ+ community. I lead a public awareness campaign encouraging LGBTQ+ folks to talk about mental health, and support several other community-based programs. As a Hispanic, Queer person these are the programs I wish I had access to as a young person. When I am at events with my team handing out materials and talking to the community, the response I get ("I need this","thank you") propels me forward. It makes it all worth it.I volunteer as a care coordinator at the DAWN clinic, shadowing physicians and connecting our underserved patients to housing, food, and other support. Through this work I provide trauma-informed, culturally relevant care.Send me a message if you are a mental health advocate, LGBTQ+ advocate, or an underrepresented person in the medical space; I would love to connect.
