About Zane Barrett

With over 10 years of industry experience in molecular biology, I have developed expertise in a diverse range of analytical assays. At BioMarin Quality Control, I built a strong foundation in gene therapy, serving as the lead analyst on eight assay validations for Roctavian, which received FDA approval and recognition from multiple global regulatory agencies. Transitioning to the Viral Gene Therapy Research group, I further expanded my skills by creating assays for the upstream production of novel drug products. This included managing over 25 sets of primers and probes across various DNA PCR assays, developing a protein quantification assay using the Octet platform, developing a DNA/RNA extraction ddPCR assay for the wider research organization, and installing and validating the Qiagen dPCR system with the Qiagility liquid handler. I have also cultivated strong presentation skills, regularly sharing insights with the wider research department on numerous projects. I am eager to leverage this skill set in a pharmaceutical company committed to delivering life- changing therapies to patients.
