About Zara Cook

Hi, I'm Zara Cook, a Computer Engineering student at the University of Waterloo with a passion for AI and robotics 🤖. My research spans several areas, including generative AI for brain age prediction from EEG data 🧠, self-supervised graph neural networks for enhanced EEG analysis, and multi-modal feature learning for improved activity classification in older adults. I've also worked on human motion generation in smart home environments, leveraging AI-driven methods to enhance human-robot interaction. In my projects, I have applied explainable AI (XAI) techniques to provide insights into model decisions and improve transparency. My work includes leveraging large language models and fuzzy clustering for medical report analysis, exploring vision transformers for gait age prediction, and developing human activity analysis methods using ImageBind and XAI. I am proud to have received the Best Undergraduate Paper Award at I2MTC 2024 and have published research on these topics. I am open to opportunities in Software Engineering and AI Research to further push the boundaries of AI and robotics.
