Background
About Zared Celentano
I am going into my Senior year at Wentworth Institute of Technology, almost there! My major is Computer Information Systems because I have always been interested in computer software and working in a management team. I am an exceptional listener and can easily empathize. Game development has always been of great interest to me as well, which is why I have been working on a self-made videogame called "Manifest" for the past 5 years. This is my passion project. I learned how to draw and animate to make this happen and I can proudly say everything in the game was 100% drawn, developed, and coded by me! Over this past year I discovered I really enjoy working with kids and am very good at it! I have always been talented at being an active listener and making people feel comfortable, which are great skills to have while working with people of any age. I have been working at Inventor STEM School for almost a year now, where I get to teach multiple STEM related classes to dozens of students. Forming relationships with these kids and teaching them important life lessons is some of the most fulfilling work I've ever done. Showing and explaining Manifest is very inspiring to the kids, as they often don't meet someone who has a beautiful videogame under their belt. I have a knack for connecting with, understanding, and relating to people in my life. My manager at Inventor STEM School is currently making a new class at our school focused on behavioral and social learning, because she has seen how well I work with the kids, and wants me to be the lead. My social skills are also demonstrated at my other part-time job at Acton Douglas Extended Day Program. We have some kindergarteners that are behaviorally challenged and don't listen to the adults often. On my first day working there I got assigned to one who always needs someone watching. He instantly took a liking to me and listened to me much more than anyone else. Forming these strong bonds with socially challenged kids is one of the best feelings. I'm so glad I get to make such a positive impact on their life by understanding where they're coming from and respecting their ideas and wishes. These listening and problem-solving skills make me a great addition to any team.
