About Zavia Cunningham

My personal mission in life is to educate, motivate and inspire those around me as I take advantage of every opportunity to actualize my passion in rewarding environments as an educator, researcher, critical thinker, and problem-solver. Over the past five years as an educator, I have established myself not just as a teacher, but as a teacher who is passionate about what I do and how I do it. I patiently guided my students from the point of not wanting to study Spanish as “it is too hard” to asking to take on the subject at the external examination level. When the pandemic hit in March of 2020, I was not phased. I took on the challenge and was awarded for my invaluable contribution to online teaching and learning. I care for the students to whom I teach and also for those who were put in my care as a form teacher. As a result of this aspect of my nature, I have been awarded as an outstanding Form teacher for all the years I have been at Wolmer’s Boys’ School. I will use the skills I have gained over the years to bring added value to the lives of your students as I seek to guide them academically and behaviorally.
