Background
About Zebulan Thomas
I'm a maritime data analyst and instructor committed to enhancing maritime operations, security, and collaboration through SeaVision. As a team lead, I've scheduled and coordinated SeaVision training with multiple entities, developed curriculum and training for navigation students and foreign partners, and presented and instructed to large groups. I take pride in improving training programs and curriculum. Currently, I'm working as a maritime data analyst and instructor for Scientific Research Corporation in San Diego. I'm part of the curriculum development team and one of the first new instructors tasked with defining and developing the original SeaVision training curriculum and format. I conduct virtual and live in-country SeaVision training for foreign partners in the Southeast Pacific and Black Sea Region, including Bangladesh, Georgia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam. I'm proud to have trained the Georgian Coast Guard in the country's first ever iteration of SeaVision, as well as conducted in-person training with the Ukrainian Border Guard in Odesa on the use of SeaVision and integration with foundational knowledge of maritime domain awareness. I've also fostered collaboration and coordination among different foreign agencies, including foreign Coast Guards, foreign Navies, Customs, Maritime Police, and Department of Fisheries. Prior to my current role, I served in the United States Navy for 24 years and was one of the first Assistant Navigators to graduate from Surface Warfare Officers School Navigator Course. I also led the first-ever assessment and certification of readiness for DDG warships. My time in the military was a remarkable experience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have served my country. I am excited to connect with fellow professionals in the maritime industry and explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing. STRENGTHS: SeaVision training and instruction, team leadership, relationship building, intercultural communication, navigation analysis, project management, problem solving, strategic planning, process improvement
