About Zeeshan Haqqee

I completed my Master of Science through the department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour at McMaster University. Working under the supervision of Dr. Paul Faure, I studied the sound localization properties of neurons in the inferior colliculus of the big brown bat. Branching the lab toward a new direction pushed me to develop a sense of autonomy in conducting research as I developed my expertise in neurophysiology. I've amassed many diverse experiences in teaching neuroscience and scientific writing to university students, and have been heavily involved in progressing the quality of post-secondary science education. These experiences continue to reinforce my enthusiasm for science, both as a researcher at the forefront of discovery and a mentor in an ever-growing network of professionals sharing their knowledge. I am currently pursing a PhD in Neuroscience at McGill University and studying the neural dynamics of learning and memory using miniaturized microscopes and calcium imaging in rodents at the Douglas Mental Health institute. I am always looking for a venue to share the wonderful workings of the mind with other aspiring students, hoping to spark the same curiosity and research ambitions driving me today.
