Cybersecurity has always fascinated me as I explored my IT career in the past and after completing the Applied Cybersecurity program at McGill University, I believe that what I have been exposed to is only the tip of the iceberg. Being a very hands-on technical person with great analytical skills, a technical role in cybersecurity is a career transition that I am looking for. The Applied Cybersecurity program at McGill University taught me about network security, security risk management and governance, security frameworks such as PCI DSS, NIST and ISO 27001, MITRE’s ATT & CK and Cyber Kill-Chain, incident response and recovery, access controls, operating system administration, intrusion testing and security assessment, and much more. Equipped with over 8 years of IT experience in quality assurance and test development, I am always looking to challenge myself and push the boundaries of what I know. My past work experience in web applications included writing automated tests in Python (end to end), refactoring and peer reviews in GitHub, assisting developers in scrum teams, testing new features, regression testing, release testing, assisting in a timely application release, and creating/maintaining technical test cases in TestRail. My time in the video games industry included mostly leading small teams of about 15 people for compliance and functional projects, acting head of Sony and Nintendo compliance, researching and creating technical test cases for new hardware, creating training materials, interviewing and training new employees, hands-on testing when needed, and much more as the situation demanded. I am always open to seeing how my past experiences and knowledge can add value and I am open to chatting about anything cybersecurity!
