Almost 15 years of work exclusively in software asset management area, provides me a substantial experience in SW licensing topics. Formal technical education in computer sciences, working track in system administration and affinity towards finances, are good background for the current job position. High analytical skills and an eye for the detail are necessary to understand and interpret SW vendors EULAs. Deep understanding of licensing policies and regulations are prerequisites to fulfill legal obligations and financial constraints. I work as link between IT personnel/engineers and procurement and legal department, related to SW topics. On behalf of business owner, I participate in SW procurement, and considering Capex or Opex budget, propose appropriate license model. Through many years I was engaged in licensing topics for 3 biggest SW vendor companies and their licensing concepts: • Microsoft – EA, CSP, Select agreement • Oracle – ULA • IBM – PA, Beside 3 biggest, I have license experience with many other SW vendors: WMware, Red Hat, Symantec/BroadCom, Quest, Adobe, UL, Informatica, JetBrains, Micro Focus, Nitro, UltraEdit,… Operating experience: • ILMT - IBM License Metric Tool • Snow License Manager • MicroFocus/HP Asset Manager Familiar with various licensing metrics: user, NUP, computer, site, VPC, PVU, core, processor. My beginning in SAM was not love on first sight, but after some period I realized this is quite interesting job. It is multi area discipline which includes computers related knowledge, understanding of legal and juridical language and financial matter. Multiple elements which must be considered, ensure that after 15 years, it is still interesting to cope with various licensing questions. For sure there is no monotony in daily jobs, as SW vendors invent new licensing concepts. I also must keep the pace, and I am ready for new challenges.
