About Zen Bellani

I joined Canada’s leading commercial real estate financing team in 2021 as an Analyst working with Russ Syme and Paul Steckler in Western Canada. First National Financial is Canada's largest non-bank lender, originating, underwriting and servicing both residential and commercial mortgages. As the number one lender of CMHC commercial mortgages, First National currently has more than $120 billion in mortgages under administration. During my various co-op placements, I experienced a diverse exposure to different aspects of finance and economics. I began energy market risk and then moved into acquisitions for energy and real estate assets. The debt side of real estate really piqued my interest which led me to pursuing a career in Commercial Mortgage Markets. I learned early on in my co-op placements that people dynamics are important to me. Real estate maintains as a relationship business, I enjoy the collaboration and teamwork. I am extremely fortunate to be working with Russ, Paul, Laura and Allison. I respect their collective experience and look forward to drawing on their knowledge as I grow. Details reveal a lot, and I think it’s important to understand the rationale behind why things are done the way they are.
