About Zena Bruce-Appiah

As a registered Social Worker (BSW, MSW, RSW), I am passionate about supporting individuals, families, and communities in navigating challenges and creating meaningful change. My approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, and equity-focused, with a strong belief in the power of collaboration and community. In my current role as a Community Service Coordinator in the Complex Tenancies Department at Toronto Community Housing (TCHC), I work with tenants, community partners, and internal teams to strengthen housing stability and improve overall well-being. This role allows me to combine advocacy, resource navigation, and strategic problem-solving with my commitment to relationship-building and restorative practices. Outside of housing, I have experience in youth services, program development, and facilitation, where I’ve led initiatives designed to empower young people, reduce violence, and foster inclusion. Whether I’m providing direct support, coordinating community responses, or developing programs, I remain focused on bridging gaps between people and the systems that serve them. I am motivated by the belief that safe, supportive, and inclusive communities are built through shared responsibility and collective effort. My goal is to continue advancing this work by fostering collaboration, advocating for equity, and driving positive impact at both the individual and systemic level.
