About Zeta Dooly

Dr Zeta Dooly is a Lecturer in Education and Technology, and Lead for the PG Cert in Technology Enhanced Learning in the School of Education and Lifelong Learning at the South East Technological University. Zeta has many years academic experience in research, teaching and supervision. Zeta has led and participated in funded research from H2020, Horizon Europe, FP7 programmes and National funding (HEA,EI, HSE) in areas that include, Immersive Learning Environments, Education and Employment, Digital Transformation, Recognition of Prior Learning, Disruptive Technologies, Cybersecurity, Identity, Trust and Privacy. Zeta is a member of SETU’s Academic Council and the SETU Academic Development, Learning and Teaching Committee and has contributed significantly to COVID Emergency Remote Teaching Guidelines, Online learning and Assessment Guidelines and SETU Micro credential Policy. Zeta sits on the Joint School of Humanities/School of Education & Lifelong Learning PG Research Board. Zeta is a member of the Sustainable Development Goals National Stakeholder Forum Committee for 2024. Zeta has been invited as Expert Evaluator, Observer and Rapporteur with the EC in Horizon Europe, H2020 and FP7 in ICT, Research and Education. Zeta was appointed to the Corporate and Midlands Health Service Executive (HSE) Research Ethics Committee (2022-2025). I am a member of the European Commission Stakeholder Consultation Group on Digital Education Content 2023- present Zeta is a member of the European Digital Education Hub 2023- present Zeta is an invited member of the National Immersive Education Working Group, established by Eirmersive, with the support of Meta, looking at Augmented Reality (AR),Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies in primary, secondary, and tertiary education. Zeta has led Contract research with HSE and Avarieto. Zeta was an invited speaker with Dept. of Taoiseach and Enterprise Ireland at the Data Summit and Trinity’s Cyber Summit in the Science Gallery. Prior to joining academia Zeta had an international career as a Senior Software Engineer and as QA Software Manager with Sun Life Financial, NuaPublish, WestPac and Ericsson travelling to Mexico, Canada, US, Australia and Europe where she has grown her professional network.
