Hi, my name is Zev Berkowitz. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have extensive post-graduate training in areas including the treatment of relationships, addictions, therapy with troubled teens, and recovery from trauma. ​My virtual practice is devoted completely to Couples, Addictions and Relational Therapy. This may include individuals who are not in a relationship, or individuals where only one of the partners want to attend Therapy session. Couples include premarital, married, straight and gay. All couples experience difficulties during a committed or long-term relationship. Helping couples work to resolve conflicts, addiction issues, develop trust and reconnect is the most satisfying work that I do. I do this by applying relationship tools, problem solving, conflict management and role modeling communication skills so that every partner feels that they are important and a priority in the relationship and is heard. ​ I provide services to clients with a wide range of backgrounds, beliefs, and treatment issues. I often draw upon empirically based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Psychotherapy (GP), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). For couples work, I'm trained in Imago Therapy and Gottman Therapy. While brief solution focused therapy (8 to 20 sessions) is often sufficient to help clients resolve specific issues, I also offer long-term therapy for clients seeking insight and clarity regarding identity and interpersonal relationships.
