Md. Ziauddin did his B. E.(Civil) from College of Engineering, Osmania University in 1984 with distinction and Post Graduation in Structural Engineering in 1986 from OU and was awarded Gold Medal in Post Graduation for Academic excellence. He is presently working as Engineer-in-Chief in GHMC, to supervise and monitor the O&M of the Civic body, an Urban Local Body serving 10 million citizens with a spread of 650 square KM. He heads a team of 400+ Engineers responsible for O&M of civic infrastructure and other functions of Greater Hyderabad with an annual outlay of INR 18 billion. He is also supervising the works of HRDCL, SNDP and QQSUDA. He worked as Chief Engineer and Chief Operating Officer of HRDCL for 1 year, Chief Engineer (Civil) in Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited for 9 years. He was head of the Engineering Wing of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project taken up under BOT in mode. He was instrumental in finalizing the Alignment and profile of all the three Metro rail corridors, GADs & span configuration. He did Contract Management of the Concession Agreement and Independent Engineer. He coordinated with the heads of Government Engineering departments in clearing bottlenecks for RoW and utility management affected in Metro rail alignment. He worked for two years (2006 to 2008) as Procurement Specialist and later on as Project Director for APURMS Project, a World Bank Project for Urban Reforms in Municipal Services. Earlier he worked for about 19 years in GHMC and dealt with scrutiny of designs of multi storied buildings, Flyovers, Bridges and Sub ways. As head of Quality Control Division in GHMC he was responsible for introducing several quality control reforms like QC Manual, preparation of database of Contractors and Engineers based on their quality performance etc, He was awarded "Telugu Uttam Seva Patram" in November, 2003 by the State Government for his outstanding service.
