About Zinhle Khumalo

I am a CA(SA) currently working as Business Manager within bp Southern Africa’s Trading and Shipping division. I have my background in Accounting and Finance having started my career in Audit at one of the big 4 firms, before moving to the energy industry gaining exposure in accounting and business performance. I joined bp in 2019, as a Performance Analyst for a front office division comprised of sales, operations, supply and origination personnel. Working within the front office significantly expanded my knowledge and experience beyond Accounting and Finance to a more wholistic view of how a business operates. My curiosity and self-starter attitude led to my promotion to Business Manager within the same team 2 years after joining the organization, which has allowed further expansion of my commercial acumen, communication skills and leadership. My experience in my previous and current roles have allowed me to develop skills such as strategy formulation, development and tracking, performance tracking and forecasting, performance and market analytics, compliance management, supporting the implementation of business initiatives and managing projects, business process design and improvement. I have a highly analytical mind, which coupled with the commercial acumen I have developed, makes for powerful and insightful decision making. I have learnt to build relationships and appropriately leverage these to accelerate delivery of key objectives. I am an ambitious individual and a firm believer in the value of people and working together towards a common objective.
