About Zoe Fox
As both a PhD student and a full-time teacher, I'm equally passionate about both of my roles. In my teaching, I love to design innovative, inquiry-based History and Social Studies courses that encourage my students to find their voices as researchers, historians, and thinkers. From creating fully immersive archaeological dig simulations, to hosting a 9th-grade version of the "Three Minute Thesis" at the end of a semester-long research project, I hope to show my students that the study of history is exciting, and quite simply, fun. In my PhD research, I focus on blending archaeological, archival, and art historical evidence in an interdisciplinary, cross-temporal analysis of the city of Rome. My dissertation compares the eviction of marginalized residents, demolition, and the ensuing reception of the Roman urban landscape during the Augustan and Fascist periods.
